I consider myself a supporter of good environmental causes. This person is way out there on the extreme space. Such absurb statements as the line about 80 years of abuse and the damage it has done to countless watersheds is such a major exageration it looks stupid to anyone with even basic knowledge of the enviornment. People didn't even know that damage was being done until about 30 years ago when we became aware of this type of contamination. To blame the failing economy on contamination from the railroad is absolutely insane. Sure the yard in Eureka is probably pretty contaminated where the old roundhouse and engine service facilities were, but that has not led to the failing economy. That's probably less than 50 acres and most concentrated in two places. I think people like Patty Clary do real damage to the environmental movement because of their extremist views. These people cause more harm than good because they get so many sensible people angry at the environmental movement, which does do some good things.
