Legal is different from moral. I don't think it is moral to take my tax money to give more than $35 million to a business to put a massive strip mine along a Wild and Scenic River. And then pay to maintain the said infrastructure. I may like trains, but not at any cost.
Everyone is very clear that getting to Willits is just a step to get to Island Mountain and the Eel River gravel. All the BS about getting trucks off of 101 is just a green smokescreen when you look at the NWP business plan and the interests of Doug Bosco.
Like the lumber, when the gravel ends (if it starts) so will the railroad again. All at the taxpayers expense.
