Isn't it amazing that this state which lays claim to being broke and just short of bankruptcy has the money to give to the public servants down in Santa Cruz when other agencies and people in general are being told NO MORE MONEY FOR YOU!!!! Anyone else who is as deep as this state is in out in the cow pattie pile would be long gone into bankruptcy by now. It obvious that our newly elected "Moon Beam" Jerry is either talking out both sides of his mouth or (which I suspect) the folks in charge at the piggy bank are just doling out the money as fast as they can before their job & paycheck is no more. Just take a look at those cities trying to spend the redevelopment money before it's gone!!!!

Yes, I agree with Sam in that this line has already started down the path in becoming the NWP South and every single taxpayer in this state is going to pay for the stupidity of those employed in Sacramento. A lot of verbal promises of the NWP North line being close to once again operating. Month after month of nothing more than words.

If this line was such a good deal and had great potential, UP would have kept it. The CFNR didn't want any part of the NWP North because it knew what a bottomless pit looked like when it was asked to take over the line many years ago. With the cement plant closed and unlikely to open anytime soon, you folks wait & see how Prop. 13 slowly disappears into the sunset........
