I fail to see why the Sierra Northern and its principals thought it was a good idea to get involved with the Santa Cruz line in the first place. Traffic is paltry now that Cemex is no longer shipping out of Davenport and I cannot see any new, significant sources of freight traffic and revenue going forward. UP made the correct decision to dump the line. Sierra Northern, as usual, is stuck with a real dog of an operation. M.H.
