Recreation Rail Should Start This Year

Thanks. I have had a good time the last 9 months documenting this period of the branch line.

I see Sierra Northern crews doing maintenance of the rail line between Watsonville and Wrigley’s all the time, but I imagine we will start to see larger projects started soon with the award of the Prop 116 funds yesterday.

Based on documents available online, Sierra Northern has requested that they be allowed to establish rail car storage at the Santa Cruz Wye and begin recreational rail service between the Municipal Warf and Four Mile Beach this year. I was under the impression they were going to establish a maintenance facility at Swift Street, but maybe that will be at the Santa Cruz Wye now.
